Agriturismo I Monti offers its guests the possibility to assist in the various daily farm activities that take place in the Alta Maremma, as well as collect the products of the earth that are native to this area.

An example is the collection of olives.

The olives at the farm are still picked by hand, collected in cases or sacks and then taken to the oil press where they transform into oil.

Guests can assist and watch the transformation. The oil products in this area are well known as they are of high quality and yet light.

Our area is also well-known for the collection of the wild Porcini mushroom. Emilio and I both possess licenses for the recognition of mushrooms, distributed by USL and we can provide, upon payment, a section of our forest where you can search for mushrooms yourself or with myself or Emilio as a guide in your search for these tasty mushrooms.

Our part of the this zone of Tuscany is one of the very few where you can find wild asparagus which are full of taste. You can collect them and prepare them in the comfort of your apartment.

There is also wild radicchio in the spring as well as the famous Prugnolo mushroom. (in April/May time, the town of Montieri organizes the festival of the Prugnolo mushroom where you can taste and appreciate typical dishes which use this intense and tasty muchroom.)

In the summer you can find great numbers of wild strawberries and blackberries.

In the fall, you can collect chestnuts and roast them over the fire.

The zone known as the Alta Maremma in which we are located is also rich in wildlife and it's very common to see wild boar, deer, badgers, wild rabbits, foxes, hawks and many other kinds.

There is something for everyone in every season, whether you enjoy fishing, hunting, searching for wild fruit or vegetables or just enjoying the tastes of the past.. With us, your holiday is always full of great taste!
